Introducing the TwinGo carrier

The TwinGo is a leader in the twin-specific buckle carrier market. Its clever design allows you to have either two separate carriers or a single carrier carrying two babies with one set of shoulder straps. This means that the TwinGo can be far more comfortable for many families as there aren’t two sets of bulky straps or two bulky waistbands to contend with.

Both TwinGo carriers come with large pockets on them which serve two purposes. The pockets are large enough to hold nappies, wipes, wallet and keys and allow a hands free trip for twin parents. When you aren’t using the carriers the pocket

Using the Twingo

Be aware of your babies' developmental stage.

The TwinGo is suitable for front carries from birth using the infant insert (sold separately) and used bib two adults as two separate carriers. Your baby will need the insert until they can sit comfortably in the width of the carrier and still freely bend their knees. This is usually between 4 and 6 months. TwinGo suggest that you can use them in tandem mode from 4 months. However you may find that you can get a more secure carry once the baby you want on your back is sitting unaided.

Consider your baby’s corrected age, and size and whether they fit well into the panel without the infant insert. The carrier must not extend past their knees so they can move their legs freely.

Our Carrying safety article helps you consider how to carry your babies safely in any carrier.

Using as two carriers

You can use the TwinGo as two single carriers using the attachment carrier straps. You do not need to use the attachment straps in tandem mode. These turn the attachment carrier into a full buckle carrier. You can use them like any other buckle carrier to carry front or back.

Using in tandem mode

One of the biggest worries parents tend to have about using the TwinGo is how to get the back baby into the sling safely.

You start with your baby on the front and do a hip scoot to move them onto your back. Start with the base carrier of the TwinGo at the front of your body. Position your baby carefully and centrally. Once they are seated comfortably you can securely hip scoot them onto your back. Secure the straps. Now you’re  free to get your other baby in the attachment carrier!

This video demonstrates using the TwinGo in tandem mode:

Adjusting the waistband of the TwinGo

Another common TwinGo question is how to adjust the waistband. You can wear the waistbands on the TwinGo as one continuous waistband or as two separate waistbands. If your babies are different ages or sizes you may wish to keep the waistbands separate. This enables you to position them at different heights. If you’re very slim keeping the waistbands separate may also help you get a more secure fit.

When joining the waistbands on the TwinGo, if you find it too long, fold in the waistband flaps.  These flaps are at either end of each waistband. You can fold in any number of them, which gives you a lot of flexibility on the length of the waistband!

Storing the TwinGo in it's pouch

The TwinGo comes with a large carrying pocket on the outside of each carrier. This is very handy for parents with twins for carrying nappies, snacks, wipes, drinks…EVERYTHING!

When the Twingo carriers aren’t in use they fold away into this pocket as shown in this video.
